Utkal Business School (UBS) follows a fair, transparent, merit-based and student-friendly
admission process in accordance with the rules, regulations and guidelines prescribed by the
Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Odisha, the Government of Odisha and other
statutory/regulatory authorities, as applicable.
Eligibility for Admission
Admission to the BBA programme shall be made in accordance with the eligibility
criteria and admission regulations prescribed by BPUT and the competent authorities
for the relevant academic session.
In general, candidates seeking admission to the BBA programme should
have:
- Passed the Higher Secondary/10+2 examination or an equivalent
examination from a recognised Board/Council/University.
- Fulfilled the minimum percentage and other eligibility requirements
prescribed by BPUT/competent authority for the particular academic session.
- Produced the required original academic and other documents at the
time of admission.
- Fulfilled any additional conditions prescribed by the University,
Government or competent statutory authority.
The eligibility criteria applicable for each academic
session shall be as notified by the University/competent admission authority and
shall prevail over any general information contained in the institutional
prospectus.
Admission Procedure
UBS shall follow a transparent, merit-based and regulation-compliant admission
process in accordance with the prevailing rules and guidelines of BPUT, Government
of Odisha and other competent authorities.
The broad admission procedure shall comprise the following stages:
Step 1: Publication of Admission Notification: UBS shall publish
the admission notification for the BBA programme through appropriate channels,
including the institutional website, prospectus, admission notices and other
approved communication platforms.
Step 2: Application: Eligible candidates shall submit the
prescribed application form within the stipulated period. Applications may be
submitted through the mode prescribed by the University/admission authority or
through the institutional admission process wherever permitted.
Step 3: Verification of Eligibility and Documents: The eligibility
of candidates shall be verified on the basis of their academic qualifications and
supporting documents. Candidates shall be required to produce original documents for
verification.
Step 4: Merit/Selection: Selection of candidates shall be made
strictly in accordance with the admission norms prescribed by BPUT and the competent
authority. Where an entrance examination, counselling, centralised admission process
or other selection mechanism is prescribed, UBS shall follow the same.
Step 5: Seat Allotment/Admission Confirmation: Selected candidates
shall be informed about their admission and shall complete the prescribed admission
formalities within the stipulated time.
Step 6: Payment of Fees: Candidates offered admission shall pay the
prescribed fees within the specified deadline. Admission shall be treated as
confirmed only after completion of all prescribed formalities and payment of
applicable fees.
Step 7: Registration with the University: After completion of
institutional admission formalities, student registration/enrolment shall be
completed with BPUT in accordance with the University's prescribed procedure.
Documents Required at the Time
of Admission
Candidates shall normally be required to submit/produce the following
documents, subject to the requirements notified for the concerned academic session:
- 10th Standard/Matriculation Certificate and Mark Sheet
- +2/Higher Secondary Mark Sheet and Certificate
- School/College Leaving Certificate (Original)
- Conduct/Character Certificate (Original)
- Migration Certificate, wherever applicable (Original)
- Caste/Category Certificate, wherever applicable
- Income Certificate, wherever applicable
- Recent passport-size photographs
- Aadhaar/other valid identity document, as applicable
- Medical fitness certificate, if prescribed
- Any other document prescribed by BPUT/competent authority/UBS
Admission shall remain provisional until verification of all required documents is
completed.
Reservation and Relaxation
Reservation of seats and relaxation in eligibility criteria, wherever applicable,
shall be implemented in accordance with the Government of Odisha, BPUT and other
competent authority guidelines prevailing for the relevant academic session.
Candidates claiming reservation or relaxation shall be required to
produce valid supporting certificates issued by the competent authority.
Fee Structure
The fee structure for the BBA programme shall be determined and notified by UBS in
accordance with the applicable BPUT regulations, Government of Odisha norms and
approvals of the competent authorities.
